Snowstorm in Boston!

Please listen to this news broadcast about the snowstorm in Boston.

Monday, February 10, 2015

The record-setting snowfall continues in Boston, where the mayor is saying the city is running out of space to put the snow. It has snowed 13 of the past 17 days in Boston, and the city has picked up over a foot in the past day alone. Almost 5 feet of snow fell in the last two weeks, setting records for the most snow in both a 7-day and 10-day period. And there might be another snowstorm Thursday. More than 500 flights in and out of Boston have been cancelled today, adding to the thousands cancelled in the past two weeks. Boston schools are closed today and Tuesday, and have been closed for 8 days so far this winter, the most in the past 12 years. The weather has caused public transit delays throughout New England, and even caused a school bus to crash off the road in New Hampshire, thankfully without injuries reported. The snowstorm is supposed to subside sometime tomorrow morning. According to the national weather service, an additional 2 to 6 inches of snow could fall across the northeast today, and up to 10 inches is possible near Boston.
